Harry's Corner

The allCanes.com Blog is going to resurrect 'Harry's Corner' - a section we used to feature on our site where general manager Harry Rothwell would chime in from time to time with the latest regarding new products, who's been in store and what's going on at allCanes.

I spoke with Harry today and this is the latest and greatest:

>>> The search for this year's catalog model is underway. Harry is working with this year's Miss UM, Sarah Grace Pachter so we can extend our search and find the best ladies The U has to offer. Plans are underway for another model search/fashion show like we've done in year's passed. Most likely it'll take place somewhere in Coconut Grove again. More to come.

Any Lady Canes (or guys) who think they're allCanes Catalog or website material, please send photos to catalog@allCanes.com and for us to review.

>>> Harry has just returned from two major trade shows where he was scouring the country for the newest and hottest Canes merchandise available. Orders are being placed and the new gear will begin hitting shelves very soon. Stay tuned.

>>> He also wanted to remind Hurricane Faithful that this Saturday's spring practice (April 1st) is open to all season ticket holders. Get out on there this weekend to check out Miami Football and then head on over to allCanes. We're open 9:00am to 7:00pm on Saturday and will have a bunch of new sale items to commemorate the open practice and official kickoff of spring.

Go Canes!!

Can U help us with our catalog?

allCanes needs the help of our loyal customer base when it comes to our 2006 catalog and how we should proceed. As we know, this is the information era and the power of the Internet is growing leaps and bounds every day.

With allCanes.com we can upload/remove product in an instant. We currently stock over 700 items online - whereas the 2005 catalog featured 350 items. Once an item is sold out, it's taken down from the site. Conversely, when new merchandise hits our shelves during the season - it's immediately added to the site.

Obviously we are not afforded that same luxury with our first class catalog. Once it's shot in June and released in August, no changes can be made to the showcased inventory selection.

We are in the midst of putting together a catalog-related questionnaire. As we forge ahead into the information era, we want to make sure that we pay attention to the needs of all our customers. If you like the catalog, love it or have become indifferent since allCanes.com has launched and grown - we need to know.

If you'd like to comment, please do so via the blog here. Just click 'comments' at the bottom of this particular blog, check 'other' and then comment away. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Below are a sample of the questions we'll be sending out.

- Which best describes how you purchase merchandise from allCanes - in store, catalog, phone orders or online?

- How long have you been receiving our annual fall catalog - a few years, more than a few years or never before?

- How often do you annually shop with allCanes.com?

- Have you ever ordered any merchandise from the catalog? If so, did you order online or phone in your order?

- How did you first discover allCanes.com online - search engines, a link from another site, our catalog, etc.?

- If allCanes were to stop producing an annual catalog would you stop shopping with us, shop less, order more online or phone in your orders?

Any other thoughts or comments are appreciated.

Sincerely,

allCanes.com Management Team

Congratulations to Pat Perez...

PGA Tour Professional and friend of allCanes.com, Pat Perez finished t-3rd at the PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL this past weekend.

Shooting 71-72-69-71 on the week and wrapping things up -5, PP pulled to third place with Camillo Villegas, Jim Furyk and Henrik Stenson.

What made it extra sweet was the fact PP was sporting the allCanes.com logo on both his shirts and his Taylor Made golf bag for the Florida swing. We put the logos on for him the week of Doral and he was sponsored by allCanes right up through PLAYERS this past weekend.

Perez became a Canes fan back in 1998 by way of yours truly. Though he's an Arizona State alum, the Canes became his go to team. Couple that with his three year friendship struck up with former Canes baseball standout Pat Burrell, and Perez really has no choice but to become a fan of all things related to The U.

He was front and center with the allCanes.com crew at the 2002 Rose Bowl and 2003 Fiesta Bowl and he's hoping that come time for the 2007 Fiesta, it's again the Canes in Tempe -- playing his hometown Sun Devils, of course.

All that said, a hearty congrats to Double P this week for a stellar four rounds of golf, a hefty payday and for representing allCanes.com so week this past month in the Sunshine State.

Get ready to blog allCanes-style...

Hey Everyone - Chris Bello here of allCanes. Getting ready to kick off the Official allCanes.com blog in the coming days.

As some of you may or may not know, I've covered Hurricanes Football online since 1996 when I was in college and Grassy.com (Bryan Knoll) gave me the opportunity to write for their site. I did so until 2004 when we revamped allCanes.com and I started covering the Canes for our site, though I still did the occasional piece for CanesTime Magazine.

Since then I've been covering Hurricanes Football for allCanes.com with that same 'fan on the street' approach I tried to bring to CanesTime.

Currently I am also the Director of Internet Sales for allCanes.com and am doing all I can too help make us the #1 Canes Shop Online. Any thoughts on how we can do that - please email chris@allCanes.com.

I've run my own blog for the past few years now but put it on ice as I haven't had time to update it.

Instead I've been hired to help out with my PGA Tour bud's site and his blog at PatPerezGolf.com. Between that and allCanes.com, I'm definitely excited about these new assignments.

There will be a lot of Hurricane sports-related themes here as well as all info regarding new products, sales, specials or even just informative stuff like which Miami players or coaches dropped by allCanes this week. For those of you who have been shopping with allCanes.com for a while, you'll remember the site feature 'Harry's Corner' where our general manager Harry Rothwell would chime in from time to time about what was going on in store. That is a feature we'll try to bring back in some way with this blog.

I'm definitely not looking to rival the likes of Mr. Omar Kelly or other local writers who are closer to the program on a day to day basis. I know my limitations. This is just merely another way for us at allCanes.com to communicate with our customers and the loyal University of Miami fan base.

Please feel free to comment, ask questions and use this as a forum to discuss the Canes, All we ask is that you keep it clean. Many message boards turn into places to vent and complain. We don't want any of that venom here. The U is our family. We don't want any negativity regarding the University of Miami coaches, players, administration and fans past. There's already enough places online to participate in that.

Thanks for tuning in. More to come over the next few days, weeks, months and hopefully years.

Go Canes,

Chris Bello
