You've got to be kidding me...

Sean Taylor is in critical condition after being shot in the leg/groin area during a home invasion on Sunday night in Miami. Taylor was shot around 1:45am ET.

There's speculation regarding how many times Taylor was shot. A family friend, asking not to be identified, said twice. The Taylor family has requested that no information about his condition is released at this point.

A tragic story regarding an NFL athlete, the role guns have in society as well as the fact Hurricane Nation is now processing the fact that another former Cane has found himself faced with tragedy.

Keep the Taylors in your prayers and let's hope #26 can pull this one out.

I pray that Sean pulls out of his critical condition and can lead a normal life again whether ot not it includes football. It's a shame that in today's society people want to take what someone else has earned.

Also it's important that ESPN be contacted about Mike Wilbon's comments regarding this matter on PTI. I am paraphrasing here but he said this didn't surprise him because it was Taylor and he had a long arrest record going back to his days at UM which is FALSE. Has Taylor gone to Tennessee or even Florida (the school I attended) this comment would have NEVER been made. Taylor was NEVER arrested while at UM.

We Canes fans have been fighting media bias since 1985 when JJ beat Notre Dame, the patron saint of the media 58-7. In the last year plus one month we have had Brian Pata's death magnified and skewed for propaganda purposes by ESPN, the networks skewer us for the brawl with FIU while giving Oklahoma, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee a pass for consistent arrests of its players and now this. I'm not a Larry Coker fan- the guy never belonged on the UM sidelines, but the onslaught he and his team had to endure from ESPN, who continues to profit off showing Miami games would have sunk any team as it did Coker and the Canes last year. The tasteless yellow journalism of ESPN and its shock jocks like the guys on PTI is ruining sports for all of us. Maybe it's no small coincidence that in the last few years beyond Canes Football and Basketball I've been watching more and more Soccer, which I used to find boring mainly because it's covered by foreign media that still practices good taste and proper journalism while covering the events unlike what ESPN has done to American sports.

Even while we're down and a man is in ICU fighting for his life ESPN finds cause to kick us around. It is unacceptable.

When is this stuff gonna stop? First, it was Pata now it's Taylor. i just hope that they find this sd sack of crap and he goes away for life. Sean Taylor has been one of my favorite players for years. No one hits harder than him and my heart goes out to him and his family. I heard that there were 2 shots but he was only hit once. He was hit in the leg and the bullet hit a major artery causing a lot of blood loss. Luckily the doctors said that he responded to simple tasks such as squeezing a hand or talking. Sean...the entire "U" nation is behind you!

Horrible news...two minutes after I comment about the Taylor injury, I read on yahoo that Sean Taylor has passed away. I could do nothing but stare at my screen in disbelief. I am almost speechless and I can't believe that another Miami great has been taken away from this world way too soon. My prayers are with the family and friends of this fantstic football player. #26 forever!

Christ sustain the Taylor family & his friends; life is unexplainable. Sean was an unbelievably exciting player to us, but he was much more than that to you. Still, this one & Bryan's both hit like someone I knew personally. I've been praying for you guys since the shock came this morning.

...More media bias? Who cares. They aren't wearing our colors. They have no genuine basis what they are talking about. Forgive them & move on. My dad died completely out of the blue one day. People had things to say, both ways. Christ be praised. The Giver & Author of life. The Victor over the grave. I knew the man, I love him.

Seriously, would we want anyone who's twisting the Cane's legacy to be cheering for us? Sean Taylor: if you knew him, if you watched him, if you celebrated his life on & off the field--YOU mourn him. Support a family that lost someone incredibly dear.
