The U showcases most four-year grads in NFL...
For all the fools who still spout the tired and cliche, "Thug U" moniker, Miami again is tops again regarding academics and athletics. Get with the times. This past NFL season, 27 professional players earned their degrees from Miami -- the largest amount of graduates in the NFL from any college.
Ed Reed. Santana Moss. Reggie Wayne. Antrel Rolle. Some of the biggest names in the game.
Some who left returned years later to finish what they started. Cortez Kennedy and Duane Starks, to name a few.
Aside from the most four-year grads in the NFL, Miami also boasts a NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) of 969, which was 8th-highest in the country out of 119 Bowl Sub-division programs -- that's up from 966, which was 10th-highest in 2007.
Miami had 23 seniors in 2008 and going into the season, 13 had already earned their degrees. The rest either graduated December 2008 or will graduate in May 2009.

Its too bad no matter what is done off the field to better our rep. 99% of the fish-hacks out there will never ever let anyone know that..They want to bring up the brawl and all that b.s...I do remember when B.Pata was shot and killed it was said same ole U by them..no real mourning of his passing..Then when #26 was murdered it was because he was a thug and lived that lifestyle and died that way..When the truth came out I sure didnt hear or read anything about how they were wrong..As for those saying RS needs to be better with the media I say why???What the hell has most media outlets done for DAU..RS has been thru the b.s. about DAU for way too long to bow down and kiss arse..Great article as always..THANK U
Good for them. Its funny when people yell out thug u and say miami fans living in the past, Since whats his face at UF called them the U can they take Thug U too?
Now lets win some Championships.
This article shows the true U. This shows you that we excel on the field AND in the classroom. It's a beautiful thing, that many choose to ignore, simply because negativity sells, as well as the old beliefs. Why actually do some work researching what's going on NOW, when you can simply regurgitate 20 year old generalities? These facts can't be disputed and I love it! Thank you for bringing yet another example of the true Miami to light.
